Dear UBF leaders,
"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful." (Col 1:15)
In order to respond to the threat of the coronavirus (COVID-19), UBF HQ staff, in consultation with the excellent doctors in our community, have been praying about and discussing how we may best meet this challenge. At the moment, HQ hereby gives guidelines for all UBF chapters in dealing with the COVID-19 as below.
Guidelines for UBF chapters:
1. Chapter leaders proactively guide public meetings, including Sunday worship service, with wisdom.
- Pray for the help of the Holy Spirit, for God's peace and Jesus' grace to cover us at this time.
- Pray for the well being of the chapter members spiritually, emotionally and physically.
- If anyone in the chapter tests positive for COVID-19, cancel public meetings immediately and seek professional medical treatment.
- It is permissible to stop gathering for Sunday worship service and instead employ social media in virtual worship.
- Consider the wisdom of "social distancing" in relation to seating, congregating, singing and greeting.
- Consider limited contact, refrain from hugging, kissing, handshaking, or congregating.
2. Discourage having large scale conferences and international travel.
3. Encourage church members who are at risk not to attend Sunday worship service or other public meetings until the threat diminishes.
- Sick children should stay at home with a parent or babysitter.
- Anyone with cold or flu symptoms--cough, fever, sore throat, runny nose, muscle aches, heavy congestion--should stay at home.
- Elderly members and those or high risk due to diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, cancer should stay at home.
4. Practice good hygiene.
- Make hand sanitizers available.
- Clean high touch surfaces frequently (doorknobs, faucets, toilet flush handles, sinks, etc.).
- Wash your hands regularly throughout the day and for 20 seconds each time.
- Please cover any sneezes or coughs in your elbow and turn away from those nearby.
May the grace and peace be with you.
In Christ,
General Director: Moses Yoon
Vice General Director: Ron Ward
