Jesus Taken to the Sanhedrin

Matthew 26:57-68

Key verse 26:64

"Yes. It is just as you say," Jesus replied. "But here is what I say to all of you. In days to come, you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One. You will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven."

Read verses 57-59a.  Where was Jesus taken after he was arrested?  Why were the chief priests and Sanhedrin looking for something to use against Jesus?  Did they find any proof to use against Jesus?  

Read verses 59b-64.  What did the final two witnesses say?  Did Jesus answer the charges against him?  What did the high priest command?  What was Jesus’ answer?  What thing did Jesus say would happen in the days to come?  What will happen to those who don’t accept Jesus as the Son of God when he comes again? 

3.    Read verses 65-68.  How did the high priest react to what Jesus said?  What did the Sanhedrin members say?  What did they do to Jesus?
