Sheep and Goats

Matthew 25:31-46

Key verse: 25:32

All the nations will be gathered in front of him. He will separate the people into two groups. He will be like a shepherd who separates the sheep from the goats.

Read verses 31-33.  What will it be like when Jesus comes again?  What do words like “glory”, “angels”, “thrown” and “heaven” tell us about Jesus’ second coming?  What will Jesus do with all nations and people?  

Read verses 34-39.  How will King Jesus bless the sheep?  Why were they blessed like this?  What questions did they have?  What was Jesus answer?  What can we learn about the importance of taking care of others needs in Jesus’ name?  

3.  Read verses 41-46.  How will Jesus curse the goats?  Why were they cursed like this?  What questions did they have?  What was Jesus’ answer?  What happened to them?  What will happen to the sheep?  What can we learn about God’s judgment?
