A Faithful and Wise Servant

Matthew 24:36-51

Key verse 24:45

“Suppose a master puts one of his servants in charge of the other servants in his house. The servant's job is to give them their food at the right time. The master wants a faithful and wise servant for this.”

Read verses 36-44.  Who knows the day Jesus is coming again?  What will that day be like?   Why will people be caught by surprise?  What did Jesus say to do?  Why must we keep watch and be ready?   

Read verses 45-47.  What should we do to be ready?  What kind of attitude should we have?  What does it mean to be faithful and wise?  How are we to serve others?  What is the reward for the faithful and wise servant?

Read verses 48-51.  What does the evil servant say to himself?  What does he do?  What he did seemed wise, but was it?  What will happen to him?
