Whose Son is The Christ?

Matthew 22:41-46

Key verse 22:42a

“What do you think about the Christ?  Whose son is he?”

 Read verses 41-42.  What question did Jesus ask the Pharisees?  Why is this question important?  What was the Pharisees answer?  I what respect did they answer correctly (2 Samuel 7:12-16)? 

 Read verses 43-45.  What Bible passage did Jesus quote?  What additional questions did he ask?  Why can’t the Christ be both David’s son and Lord?  What is your conclusion: Whose son is the Christ?  Whose Lord is he?

 Read verse 46.  Why couldn’t anyone answer Jesus?  Why wouldn’t anyone ask him any more questions?  What can we learn about Jesus here?
