The Rich Young Man

Matthew 19:16-29

Key verse 19:21

Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

 Read verses 16-21.  What did a man ask Jesus?  Why did Jesus say that God alone is good?  What way did Jesus give this man to enter eternal life?  What did this man lack?  What did Jesus tell him to do?   

Read verses 22-26.  Why did this man go away sad?  Why is it so hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven?  In what way is it hard for anyone to be saved?  Yet, how is it possible?  

  

Read verses 27-30.  What did Peter ask Jesus?  What did Jesus promise for those who leaven everything to follow him?
