Jesus Walks on Water

Matthew 14:22-34

During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.

 Read verses 22-25.  What did Jesus do after dismissing the crowds?  Where were the disciples?  What did Jesus during the fourth watch of the night?  How do you think Jesus was able to walk on the water?

Read verses 26-27.  How did the disciple respond when they saw Jesus walking on the lake?  What did Jesus say to them?  What reasons did the disciples have for being afraid?  But why should they not be afraid?  

 Read verses 28-34.  How was Peter able to walk on the water?  What happened when he became afraid?  How did Jesus help him?  What did Jesus say to Peter?  What can we learn about Peter’s faith?  What does confessing Jesus as the Son of God do for our faith?
