Genesis 1:3-25

Key Verse 1:25

“God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.” 

Read V3. By what instrument did God create the world? (Heb. 11:3) How many times do you find the phrases “and God said….. and it was so”? What does this suggest about God? About his word (Ps 33:6-9; Col 1:16; Jn 1:1-3)

Read V4-5. What did God create the first day? Why do you think God created light first? Why is light necessary to all the other works of creation? When did he create the sun, moon and stars?

Read V6-8. What did God do on the 2^nd day? What is the “expanse?” How did this prepare an environment for the birds and fish? (Isa 45:18) What did he do on the 3^rd day? How did this prepare an environment for animals and man (Ps 104:14)

Explore the sequence of the 6 days of creation. Is there any relationship between the first three days of creation and the last three days? What can you learn from this about God the creator? About the world he crated?
