I will Pour Out My Spirit on All People

Acts 2:1-4, 12,13,17

“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.”

Read verses 1-4, 12 and 13. When did the events in this verse occur? (2:1) What happened on that day? (2:2-4) What happened to all of them? (2:4) Why did Peter stand up and address the crowd? (2:12,13) What scripture did Apostle Peter quote to explain what was happening to the people? (Joel 2:28-32) 

Read verse 17. When are ‘the last days’? (17a, Is. 2:2, 2Ti. 3:1, Heb.1:2, 2P.3:3) What does God promise to happen in the last days? (17b) What does it mean to ‘pour out’? What is ‘my Spirit’? What are the works of the Holy Spirit (Jn.16:8, 13; Acts 1:8)? 

On whom will God pour out his Spirit in the last days? Who are ‘all people’? Who are ‘your sons and daughters, your young men and your old men’? (17c) 

What do you think the following phrases mean: ‘prophesy’, ‘see visions’ and ‘dream dreams’? How can we prophesy, see visions and dream dreams? (2:17b) How can we be full of the Holy Spirit?
