You Will Be My Witnesses

Acts 1:1-11

Key verse 1:8

Skim through verses 1-5.  What command did the risen Jesus give his disciples?  What did he promise them?  How were the command and promise connected?   

 Read verses 6-8.  Why did the disciples ask about the kingdom of Israel?  How did Jesus answer them?  What mission did he give them?  What was their mission field?  Who would empower them to serve their mission?  How can we be God’s witnesses to the ends of the earth?  

 Read verses 9-11.  Where did the risen Jesus go after giving the disciples their mission?  Why were the disciples looking up into the sky as he went?  What promise did two men in white give them?  When will the mission to the ends of the earth be completed?
