John 11:45-57

He did not say this on his own, but as high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the Jewish nation, and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one.

1. Read verses 45-46.  What did many of the Jews do after seeing what Jesus did? (45)  However, what did some of them do? (46)  Why do you think they did so? 

2. Read verses 47-48.  What were the chief priests and the Pharisees’ response after hearing what Jesus had done? (47-48)  What was the main concern of Sanhedrin members? (48) How did they misunderstand Jesus? (Joh 18:36)

3. Read verses 49-52.  What did Caiaphas urge them to do? (49-50)  How did God use the high priest to fulfill His purpose? (51-52)  What does it mean to make the Jewish nation and the scattered children of God one? (52)

4. Read verses 53-57.  Where did Jesus and his disciples stay? (54)  Why? (53, 57)  What did many do when it was almost time for the Passover? (55-56)
